Zeke
Hub Culture Emergent Intelligence
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 November 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Zeke mobile app ("Zeke", "the app", "we", "us") collects, how we use it, and — importantly — the third-party artificial-intelligence (AI) services we share it with so the app can answer your questions, generate images, and translate speech.
Zeke is operated by Hub Culture Ltd (United Kingdom and Bermuda) together with Ven Finance Ltd (SVG). This policy applies specifically to the Zeke mobile application for iOS and Android. It supplements the broader Hub Culture Privacy Policy; where this app-specific policy and the general policy differ in relation to the Zeke app, this policy governs.
In short: Zeke's AI features send your input to third-party AI providers (OpenRouter, OpenAI, Tavily, Deepgram, LiveKit, and Google Translate) to work. We ask for your explicit permission inside the app before any of this data is sent, we only share what each feature needs, we do not sell your data, and you can turn AI data sharing off at any time in Profile → AI data sharing.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide through AI features
- Chat messages — the text you type in Chat and your current conversation history.
- Image prompts — the text prompts you write in Dreamscape to generate art.
- Voice and microphone audio — your speech captured during a Voice session or while using the Translator. This is processed to understand and respond to you, or to transcribe and translate what you say.
- Speech for translation — the audio and resulting transcribed text you create in the Translator.
Account information
- If you sign in with your Hub Culture (HubID) account, we process your name and email address and an authentication token so you can use member features. You can also use Zeke as a guest, without an account.
- When you ask Zeke questions about your account, only your name, email address and Ven balance are included with your request so the AI can answer them. Your password and login token are never sent to AI providers.
Device permissions
- Microphone — used only for the live Voice agent and real-time Translation while those features are active.
- Camera — may be used during live Voice sessions.
- Photo library — used only to save Dreamscape images you choose to save to your device. Saved images stay on your device and are not uploaded by this action.
- Network and device state — required for the app to connect to our services.
Granting a permission does not mean data is continuously collected — audio, for example, is only captured while you actively use Voice or the Translator.
2. How we use your information
- To generate AI responses to your chat messages.
- To generate images from your Dreamscape prompts.
- To run live voice conversations and to transcribe and translate your speech.
- To authenticate you and provide member features when you sign in.
- To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the app.
We do not sell or trade your personal information, and we do not use your content for advertising.
3. Third-party AI services we share data with
To provide its AI features, Zeke sends the relevant input to the third-party AI providers listed below. Your data first passes through our own Zeke / Hub Culture backend (hosted on Amazon Web Services), which forwards only what each feature needs to the applicable provider. Voice playback of translations is generated on your device and is not sent to a third party.
| Provider | Data shared | Purpose | Their policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| OpenRouter | Chat messages & conversation history | AI gateway that routes chat requests to a language model — mainly OpenAI, and sometimes another provider (such as Anthropic or Google) chosen automatically | openrouter.ai/privacy |
| OpenAI | Chat messages (via OpenRouter and for search embeddings); Dreamscape image prompts; voice-session speech | Generate chat replies, generate images, and power the live voice assistant (speech-to-text, reply and voice output) | openai.com/policies/privacy-policy |
| Tavily | A web search query created from your question | Look up current information on the web when Zeke's own knowledge doesn't have the answer | tavily.com/privacy |
| Deepgram | Microphone audio (your speech) in the Translator | Convert speech to text (speech recognition) | deepgram.com/privacy |
| Google (Google Translate) | Transcribed text from the Translator | Translate text between languages | policies.google.com/privacy |
| LiveKit | Real-time voice session audio stream | Carry the live, two-way audio connection for Voice (it does not run AI on your data) | livekit.io/legal/privacy-policy |
We share only the data necessary for each feature to function. These providers process your data as our service providers under their respective terms, and are contractually required to protect it with safeguards consistent with this policy and with applicable data-protection law. We encourage you to review each provider's privacy policy linked above.
When a question in Chat needs current information, a search query written from your question is sent to Tavily (a web search service) to retrieve results.
4. Your consent and control
Before Zeke sends any of your data to the third-party AI services above, the app shows an in-app notice that describes what is shared and with whom, and asks for your permission. No data is sent to these services until you tap "Agree and continue." If you choose "Not now," the AI features remain off.
You can withdraw your permission at any time in Profile → AI data sharing. When you withdraw consent, Chat, Voice, Dreamscape, and Translator stop sending data until you agree again.
5. Other sharing
- Infrastructure: our platform is hosted and operated on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Service providers: we may use processors who help us operate the app, bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
- Legal: we may disclose information where required by law, to protect our rights, or to prevent fraud or abuse.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
6. Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, after which it is deleted or anonymised. AI providers retain submitted data in accordance with their own policies and our agreements with them. You can request deletion of your personal data as described in "Your rights" below.
To operate, debug and improve the service, we also keep diagnostic logs on our own servers that may include the text of your chat requests, for a limited period (currently up to 90 days). These logs are stored by us and are not an additional form of sharing with third parties.
7. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to limit what is shared to what each feature requires.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the UK Data Protection Act and the EU GDPR), you may have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Delete — ask us to erase all or some of your personal data.
- Correct — edit or correct your personal data (some of which you can change in your account).
- Object / restrict — ask us to stop or limit our use of all or some of your personal data.
- Portability — ask for a copy of your personal data in a portable form.
- Withdraw consent — turn off AI data sharing in-app at any time (see "Your consent and control").
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
9. Children's privacy
Zeke is not directed to children. Access to the platform is restricted to users who meet the minimum age requirement, and membership requires users to be at least 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
10. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States, where our AI providers and infrastructure operate. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) as required by applicable law.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app, its features, or the providers it uses change. When the AI providers or the data shared with them change, we update this page and the in-app consent notice, and ask you to review and agree again. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
